Melissa Backus

Our resident horse whisperer and legal assistant Melissa sure likes to keep busy. Full-time paralegal, full-time mom, full-time farm hand, part-time student and entrepreneur…is there anything she can’t do? (Aside from personally flying to the moon or figuring out the tricky office thermostat, that is.) Not only does she keep track of our busy schedules, ensure clients know they’re our number-one priority, and offer her unique expertise gained from working for the Department of Health and Human Services, Melissa is also the copy machine expert and holds our secret pen stash (shhh — we haven’t told her where all her pens keep disappearing to). Around the same time that she joined us she decided to pursue a degree in justice and paralegal studies while working full-time and raising her daughter Audrianna. The best part of Melissa’s day is realizing that with her help, each client knows that they have the best team possible working on their case and they can rest easy knowing their team will take care of everything. Tracking her down outside of the office can be tough, but if Melissa’s not here she’s often showing horses, ponies, or puppies, trail riding with her daughter, or hand crafting beautiful custom jewelry.
