Anna MacLean

Every cutting-edge boutique law firm needs a genius on the staff, and Anna certainly meets the requirements. After graduating from Waynflete in Portland, Anna breezed through Bowdoin College where she graduated in three years, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in French and German literature. Anna then moved to Paris to pursue her legal education at Sciences Po Paris, the equivalent of Harvard in France, where nearly all of her classes are conducted in French and concern French law (because American law school in English isn’t quite challenging enough). Anna’s current Master in Economic Law program, where she is specializing in Businesses, Markets, and Regulations, is a perfect fit for her cerebral and detail-focused nature. We are not the only ones begging for her to share her perfectionist, driven character–Anna has worked at large, Paris-based corporate law firms and as a legal analyst for a venture capital start-up. Do you have a question about the use of the English language? Anna, who got a perfect 800 on the verbal and writing sections of the SAT, can answer it. Need to hunt down or analyze a complicated international securities regulation? Just ask Anna. Most importantly, Anna has a prestigious WSET level 3 wine sommelier degree, and is always available when we need to select the perfect wine or champagne to celebrate victories in court and new additions to our firm. Anna speaks French natively and is available to speak with our international clients who prefer French over English. In her free time, you might find Anna hitting the slopes (or wondering why she moved to a landlocked city far from the mountains), curled up with a good book, or being a real “foodie” and discussing her plans for her next meal.
